SI Trading is "Service Brand of the Year"

SI Trading and brand agency Callies & Schewe win at the German Brand Awards in Berlin

At a grand gala in the Verti Music Hall Berlin, the German Design Council honored the brand presence of Mannheim-based SI Trading with a top prize in the German Brand Awards. The specialist for sourcing services was named "Service Brand of the Year 2023." This year, for the first time, more than 1,300 entries competed for the coveted trophies in the competition. This made it the largest field of participants ever. SI Trading's logo, design and brand claim were penned by Callies & Schewe, a brand and communications agency also based in Mannheim, Germany.

SI Trading specializes in the procurement of critical goods and went to market in 2020. The company is growing rapidly and is now present around the globe in ten locations. "We have taken the brand issue very seriously from the beginning. Sourcing in bottleneck markets is a trust issue, and this is where our presence sets us significantly apart from the competition," said Amdom Ghebru, Chief Strategy Officer of SI Trading, on stage during the award ceremony.

As we introduce our claim 'We are the missing part' to the Americas market, this prestigious accolade strengthens trust in our brand and provides a significant boost for the whole region," says Eugen Winschel, CEO of SI Trading Americas.


In its laudation, the German Design Council praised the clear design, the concise logo and the "ingenious corporate claim": "A strong appearance with which SI Trading confidently underlines its claim to be a premium brand and is perfectly positioned for the future," was the jury's verdict.

After intensive workshops and the first design, the slogan "We are the missing part" was then "there all of a sudden. It sums up the entire SI story. We knew immediately: This is it." reported Sebastian Callies, Managing Director of Callies & Schewe in Mannheim. The brand agency specializes in business-to-business communications and is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. The team supports SI Trading worldwide in all aspects of marketing and helped develop the brand strategy.


In addition to the top prize for Best Service Brand, SI Trading also won two Winner awards in the Logistics & Infrastructure and Brand Design categories.


The award for successful brand management

The German Brand Award is the award for successful brand management in Germany. The initiator is the German Design Council. It has been operating since 1953 as the world's leading competence center for communication and knowledge transfer in the field of design, brand and innovation. Through events, congresses, competitions, jury meetings and expert circles, the German Design Council networks its members and numerous other international design and brand experts, promotes discourse and provides important impulses for the global economy. Its membership currently includes more than 350 companies.
